READING: Truth & Tenderness (Love, Faith & Devotion #6) by Tere Michaels

Publication date: May 1 2015
Published by: Dreamspinner Press
Genre: MMAdult, Romance, Contemporary
Rating:

Newly promoted police captain Evan Cerelli takes command of his own precinct as Matt Haight’s security business begins to expand at a rapid rate. Both of their careers require more and more of their time—away from home and each other. When his most famous clients, Daisy and Bennett Ames, suffer a traumatic breakup, Matt is drawn into a dangerous and dramatic situation. With attentions diverted, Evan and Matt's tight-knit home life begins to unravel.

As Griffin Drake’s movie nears final edit, his thoughts turn toward building a home with his new fiancé, Jim Shea—and maybe even starting a family. Before he can think of a new family, Jim is caught up in his past. The possibility of putting Tripp Ingersoll in jail once and for all beckons, and Jim wants the closure that has long eluded him. As a new lead spurs him on, Jim begins to lose sight of the future by chasing an old ghost.

Both couples struggle to remember that "happily ever after" requires hard work, trust, and tender, open hearts.

Thankfully way better than 4&5. There was a lot going on drama wise, and a lot of Evan and Matt scenes which I found very interesting. Matt at this point, like in all previvous books, can do no wrong. Everyobdy loves him and roots for him. He runs a successful business, takes care of 2 teenagers and the whole household. He is the perfect househusband-he said it, not me.
While that's more than enough for Evan, he still can't find a balance between work and his boyfriend, finding himself treating him the say way he treated his late wife, causing fights and things to be said which probably shouldn't.

T&T ended a bit ubruptly for my liking. Yes, Griffin and Jim got married but that's old news. What happened with Daisy and whats-his-face was a bit unexpected, although truth be told, I never liked him. We weren't given almost any explanation to what happened with him and is ex and probably for the best. So, that was kind of a bummer note to end the relationship on.

As for Evan and Matt, I guess Michaels just decided to let them be. Whether they will or won't get married (I am guessing not) doesn't really matters in the grand scheme of things.

Overall Faith, Love and Devotion series started out pretty well, kinda plunged to its death around the middle and managed to ressurect itself right at the end. I will always remember Matt's genuinely good character, and how at the start, him and Evan were wondefully miserable together, which is what drew me in in the first place.
