I'm glad Kate Brian decided to refocus on writing what she obviously is so good at : Easton.

Paradise Lost and Suspicion were not the best books of the bunch, it seemed that something was always going wrong, the writing, the plot, the characters.Nevertheless, I still find that describing the female lead's survival on a deserted island with no water or food, was extremely brave of her.People usually don't like reading stuff like that in a chick lit. However, that small-in comparison-incident, didn't save the books from being pretty boring.But with Scandal everything just falls into place, very smoothly and easily.You forget everything that happened in the PL and SUS, and right away you feel that warm sense of familiarity,that has you curled up in bed, never wanting to put the book down.Unfortunately, it doesn't last long because the book is so good, you keep turning the pages and reading like crazy-old grudges, secret societies,fall outs, disappearances and of course luuurv!- and before you know it, it's finished, with yet another intense cliffhanger,leaving you craving for Vanished.

Even if many of you got tired of the Private series or abandoned all hope after the last two books, I assure you that Scandal makes up for everything.It's a definite MUST READ!

READING : Firestarter by Stephen King

Phew!I've finished Firestarter! *wiping sweat off brow*

I don't know why this particular book took me that long to read.Maybe my heart was not really in it,or maybe I was so looking forward to reading all the other books I've bought, I was not so concentrated while reading this.

Of course, it's not the book's fault.Not at all.Stephen King is and always will be my favourite writer, so disappointing books by him are very few and far between.

Firestarter was a very good read.Not one of King's best, but fascinating nonetheless.It basically revolves around characters and their emotions and feelings and not so much around horror and mystery.I was officially hooked during the second half(after they get caught),because the first half was slow paced and a bit dull.Charlie's relationship with her father is the book's greatest strength, in my opinion, and what ultimately urges you to keep on reading.Unfortunately , the ending is not as rewarding as one would expect.It is weak, and it doesn't provide (the much needed) closure.

Despite all that though , Stephen King's writing is once again unparalleled even in one of his not so good works,and let's just stop for a second and consider the year this book was written and how radical it must have seemed back then.Or maybe how prophetic it seems now.

I've only received The Eyes Of The Dragon this week, I guess the rest are on their way.

When I was 12,my english teacher gave me this book.You know, to improve my vocabulary and such.I'd read other books by King before. I think my first was Carrie, so I was already a huge fan.But this was not what I expected at all.A book with dragons and kings and not personal demons and abuse(and writers :P)But even though it was so different from the other King books, I totally loved it. Come to think of it, probably I loved it in spite of that.

So, I came across this copy on the net and it was cheap so I thought it was a good chance to relive a moment from my youth and to read this amazing book once again.

So, Final Sacrifice.It's hard not to think of something very specific here.But since VA 5 is not even out yet,I don't wanna make any assumptions.The only sure thing about VA 6 is that it will be the last VA book. *snif*

READING : Feast Of Fools by Rachel Caine

In the town of Morganville, vampires and humans live in relative peace. Student Claire Danvers has never been convinced, though - especially with the arrival of Mr. Bishop, an ancient, old-school vampire who cares nothing about harmony. What he wants from the town's living and its dead is unthinkably sinister. It's only at a formal ball, attended by vampires and their human dates, that Claire realizes the elaborately evil trap he's set for Morganville.

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

The book picks up where the previous one left off.Mr.Bishop,Amelie's father, and his entourage have arrived at Morganville and Claire can feel everything changing.Her relationship with her friends is tested and a welcoming feast at the end,turns into a blood bath.

This book I felt, was a tad scarier and more somber than the others.

Eve's dad dies and even though she didn't have a relationship with him or her mother since they kicked her out, she struggled with her emotions and finally realising that whatever happened between them he was her dad and she loved him.His funeral is wonderfully written.

As is and I am sure will be, every bit that has Myrnin in.He is the most interesting book character I've seen in years. Every time he talks with Claire, I just can't get enough and I wish,for a minute,that the book was all about those two.Too much undeniable chemistry there, not my fault!

Another brilliant scene was the last one, the feast.Even though we haven't seen very much of Bishop,except in the first scene, and can't fully understand his fierceness,only as explained by others who know him,you can't help but feel a bit scared at the end when one by one people refused to swear fealty to him.I only wished the author had given us more Ysandre-Shane stuff because it was scary, perverse and amazing!By the end, there are two sides,Amelie's and Bishop's and a war is about to break out.

I couldn't possibly say something bad about a book in the Morganville series.It's just impossible.They have an amazing story and they are beautifully written.Feast Of Fools was no exception. Be aware, though.Another cliffhanger in the end!

READING : Mediator#2 High Stakes by Meg Cabot

Suze's new life in California is pretty cool. There's the pool parties, the new friends, and the fact that the hottest ghost in history happens to live in her bedroom. But when a screaming spirit appears at the end of her bed, Suze is thrown on to the trail of a murderer. All the clues lead to the freaky father of Tad Beaumont, the cutest boy in school... and the only guy who's ever asked Suze out. Not only is her potential beau's dad probably a killer but he also seems be some kind of vampire. So no one said that life as a mediator was going to be simple. But this is getting ridiculous...

What can I say about these books?A friend recommended them and at first I admitt,I was a bit hesitant,but whatever hesitation I may had,was gone after I finished the first book.

Never ever faltering -even a little bit-never tiring or repetitive,unbelievably funny and clever; that is how I can describe Meg Cabot's writing in the Mediator series.Even the supporting characters are very well written,Father Dom,her father and mostly her step brothers who I think are hilarious!The "they eat everything in sight" thing?Seen it happen,so true!

I have only read 2 books so far,but I doubt my opinion will change when I read the rest.I am anxiously waiting for something to happen between Suzie and Jesse but I don't mind at all that something has yet to happen.Not a fan of the 2 pages-fall in love thing, anyways.The series consists of only 6 books, so this I guess is the one negative thing I have to say about it.Small enough books, you can finish each in 2-3 days.

You would surely enjoy these books, I totally recommend them.

READING : Kissing Coffins by Ellen Schreiber

Raven leaves Dullsville for the first time and goes to Hipsterville, where her aunt lives, in the hopes of finding Alexander.The story unfurls from then on, as we meet new vampire, a secret from Alexander's past and that Raven looks amazing in a blonde wig :)

I expected Kissing Coffins to be worse that Vampire Kisses,as most sequels tend to be.But it was not even close to being worse.It kept the same flow and humor as the first book, if better, because the whole vampire issue had been revealed and there was no need to dance around it.The way she felt seeing the goth clothing store in Hipsterville, was exactly the same way I felt when I first saw a bookstore in Poole, England.It was 2003( I think),my first time in the UK.I remember going berzerk over the Anita Blake series and the Georgia Nicholson one.It was there that I bought my first Sookie book *sigh*

Anyway - got a little bit sidetracked there, sorry-all in all the book was very good.I still can't believe I like these books.No offence, but I had no hopes of any kind for this series.But I was wrong.Typical!

I loved the scene at the drive in where they played out the movie!I also can't wait to learn more about Luna and her future relationship with Trevor.Unfortunately it had a cliffhanger-y ending!!!Arghhh I don't have "Vampireville"!!How come every time I don't have the next volume of a series, the previous one ends in a cliff?Just my luck!

If you haven't read the Vampire Kisses series yet, I totally recommend it!
